United States; the State of Ohio; Stow and Rockport Colony Condo. Assn.--Fear Not To Grow.

Saying “Fiscal Cliff” Is Taking Sides

The term “fiscal cliff” is a one-sided propaganda phrase that misinforms and triggers public fear and anxiety. The fiscal cliff is not a “cliff” and the country isn’t going to fall off anything at the end of the year. Journalists: don’t help the misinformers — don’t say or write “fiscal cliff.” Congress: when people are [...] READ MORE!!!!

Tell Congress We Want Jobs Not Cuts

The statisticians were right about the election. The scientists were right about the weather. And the economists are right about … the economy. 350 economists have signed a letter warning Congress, warning “too many in Washington are fixated on cutting public spending to balance the budget, not on how to put people back to work and get our economy going.  READ MORE!!

Jobs First Because Jobs Fix Deficits

What happened to jobs? The pubic wants government to do something about jobs and getting the economy moving, and in DC the only thing is this weird argument about … anything but jobs and getting the economy moving! “Fiscal cliff?” What about jobs? Fixing the economy will fix the debt, not the other way around. [...] READ MORE!!!

Government may cause the stagnation. Jesper Koll our guest wrote on Oct 4th 2010, 19:24 GMT. ... if you want to minimise the risks of a Japan-style stagnation, ...

THE most underappreciated risk is not that policy makers do "too little, too late", but that they are doing "too much, too often". In my personal view, a global "lost decade" is getting more likely precisely because we're getting ever increasing government intervention—whether fiscal, financial, or regulatory. The economist and entrepreneur Jean-Baptiste Say put it best: "In times of political confusion, and under arbitrary government, many will prefer to keep their capital inactive, concealed, and unproductive, either of profit, or gratification, rather than run the risk of its display. This latter evil is never felt under good government."
Learning from Japan, regime uncertainty may well be a much bigger problem than generally appreciated. For example, what are private risk-takers and investors to think of the sharp about-turn that just happened: barely three months ago, policy makers were busy signaling "exit strategies" and the need to end big-government spending, while now we're back at listening to increasingly urgent calls for "QE2" and the need for a stepped-up supplementary fiscal boost. Stop-go policymaking reveals not just deep-rooted inconsistencies and the actual inability of policymakers to forecast better than the market. More worryingly, it serves a self-perpetuating dynamic that hides the ever-growing size of public policy intervention in the free economy. Clearspeak: animal spirits are being "crowded out". . . . YES--THE WORKER IS WORTHY OF THEIR (LIVABLE) WAGES. After all, what too many Greedy and Selfish Managers and others forget IS that their employees are other companies customers--Once that domino of falling wages start--it is near impossible to stop. I know because I see it first hand, After all, I work at a fast food restaurant--Wendy's,--where the more money that the Middle class has the more they eat out--the more people eat out the more people restaurants like Wendy's can employ and keep employed in turn the more hours we work the more money we have to spend on our interests, personally I like movies, especially artistic ones and foreign ones, where I can get a different perspective of life that just the Hollywood/American Way of seeing things--which is neither wrong nor the only way of seeing things--and so on and so on and on . . . .

By the way, the adult Bible Class that I am in is studying the Book of Acts, where we are reminded that the Sadducee and Pharisees who were the two groups who once made up the Sanhedrin, the high Jewish court--which not only sent Jesus to the Romans to be Crucified, but also tried to prevent the start of the Christian Church--were (Sadducee=Rich Business men) (Pharisees - The Religious Establishment)--Today, we have the Unholy Alliance of Big Business(the Fossil Fuel Industries)--The Religious Right--United together in the Republican Party=The Modern Day Sanhedrin. The more things change the more they stay the same.

The President’s top drilling safety expert has called for a ‘timeout’ on Arctic drilling. We agree.

Take Action today

Tell President Obama to suspend Shell’s Arctic drilling permits.

take action today
Shell finally got its chance to drill for oil off the coast of Alaska this fall. It didn’t go so well.

A series of equipment, permit and weather-related mishaps along with general incompetence prevented the company from drilling as planned. The failure was six years and $4.5 billion in the making and only confirmed what experts have been saying all along — drilling for oil in the Arctic will never be safe.

But Shell isn’t stopping. The company intends to try again in 2013 and the decision about whether or not it gets that opportunity is being made right now. This is our chance to stop Shell from drilling in the Arctic next year and beyond.

Take action and help us send 50,000 messages to President Obama this week calling for Shell’s Arctic drilling permits to be suspended.

Tell President Obama to call for a ‘timeout’ from Arctic drilling and suspend Shell’s permits.

We know that safe drilling in the Arctic isn’t possible. Shell has proven it this year. And the President’s top drilling safety chief agrees, saying in a recent interview that someone outside the industry needs to call a ‘timeout’ to reexamine whether or not Arctic drilling is even possible using current technology.

That someone is President Obama.

This should be a straightforward decision given that Shell still hasn’t received the final go ahead for drilling from the Obama administration because one of its key support vessels has yet to pass inspection with the US Coast Guard.

The President needs to know that you are paying attention to what’s going on in the Arctic. Take action and send a message today. . . . .

Gun Huggers Beware---This is a call for sanity and gun control.

Dear Readers, I am passing this e-mail on, because after that loud silence--shock that a young man would be shot dead, just because he was playing his radio too loud, but that was in Florida where thanks to Jeb Bush, there is the Stand Your Ground Law, which basically gives a person the right to shoot first--ask questions later--AS IF VIGILANTE JUSTICE IS JUSTICE OR WORSE THE WILL OF GOD, Since Florida is also part of the Bible Belt. God Forbid--the Church of Jesus Christ would take a Stand--After all, all the Right Wing Christians stand against is Abortion, As If It Is Amen, Glori Hallelujah, a Child is born, Mission accomplished--next. Church of Jesus Christ--If You Really Are Pro-Life then Be Pro-Whole Life--as in, beyond the Pregnancy through birth to even the crib and school and beyond.
Last night on Sunday Night Football, NBC sportscaster Bob Costas spoke up about the epidemic of gun violence in America.

He was addressing an incident from earlier last weekend, when Kansas City Chiefs player Jovan Belcher took his own life at Arrowhead Stadium after shooting and killing the mother of their three-month-old baby.

It’s a tragedy. And when so many gun murders go unnoticed by our media and ignored by our leaders in Washington, it’s important to recognize public figures like Costas who have the courage to tell it like it is.

Will you send a note to Bob Costas thanking him for having the guts to stand up? We’ll make sure he gets it.

Make no mistake – Bob Costas will also hear from those who believe that discussions of gun violence have no place in our public discourse.

The truth is that common-sense reform of our gun laws, like background checks, would save many lives. And working together, we’ll get there. But first, we need Washington and the media to recognize the problem, and to participate in a national conversation about our gun laws – one that President Obama called for in the aftermath of the mass shooting in Tucson, Arizona.

Help us make sure Mr. Costas hears from people who believe we have a responsibility to end the violence that takes the lives of 34 Americans each and every day.

Let’s support Costas for having the courage of his convictions. Send him a message right now.

Thanks for sending a message,

To Tell the Truth, I do not know what to think about Dr. Susan Rice, anymore. What I do know is that I have Doubts about appointing Sen. Kerry to the State Department, since his chairmanship is so Economic In Nature. This is why I would much rather see him as Sec of Treasury.

Personally, I favor going to Sec Clinton and see whom she recommends for her replacement, even if this leads us back to Dr. Rice.

Personally, My biggest concern is trying to do both things--get out of recession and out of debt--and doing neither, in other words--create Stag-nation instead. I would much rather see the United States first and foremost get out of Recession and then worry about the debt. After all, as my son tells me--it is much better for his generation to inherit some debt that inherit a recession.

In the tradition of Kitchen table economics, what is the point of leaving a broken down dump that is at least paid for, if the first thing that has to be done is to bring it up to code (a.k.a. leaving behind a broken infrastructure)  by the way we also sold the copper pipes to pay the mortgage a few times (a.k.a. 'Fracking') which means you don't have water.

This brings up many good questions, such as is it really a plot or are there simply too many owners and managers too selfish to think about a greater good than simply their 'BONUSES'.
Where I work, there are many repairs that should be done, but are not. There is one manager who is too busy worrying how he is going to afford a new car, which he claims he needs, whether he does or does not is not for me to say, so if he says so I see no reason to say that it is not so. Christmas is coming soon, so I can very well understand that Christmas Shopping would come first. So to say that this is deliberate neglect is not for me to say. After all, it is not my job to judge either the living or the dead nor do I have the power to search someone else's heart and mind--I can see their actions, but not the why behind their actions.
What I do know anything-a business, an infrastructure and even an house--can repairs can only be neglected for so long and the longer the repairs are put off the greater the damage that neglect will cause--thus causing an even greater repair bill--that is why their is the old saying--"A Stitch in time Saves 9" but then again, if person cannot afford thread.
