It's been nearly three years since the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded, flooding the Gulf of Mexico with toxic oil. This tragic accident should have been a wake-up call, but today dolphins, sea turtles, and more are still at risk from another spill, and fossil fuel emissions are threatening our entire planet.

It's time to go in a new direction. With offshore wind, we can create energy without polluting our oceans and our air. The biggest barrier to wind is financing. As with other emerging technologies, offshore wind needs a boost to get started. H.R.924, the Incentivizing Offshore Wind Power Act, will help with some of that cost by extending the Investment Tax Credit (ITC) for the first 3,000 MW of offshore wind installed.

 Let us not only get back to work preserving our environment, but back to work, if not move on to an higher paying job. After all, this blogger is there to. The reason I have yet to install solar panels, is because I have yet to be able to afford them. So I understand how and why were all need to make more money. The more of us who move into the Middle Class the better. After all, as a person who has had many financial set backs and continue to face financial set backs, I understand and respect that people do what we can afford to do. All too many times, we don't do the right thing, not out of ignorance, but because we can not afford to do the right thing.
