Normally this is not an Evangelical Blog. After all, there are so many who can preach far better than I, which is why I usually go with common interests, except where I have lose my temper and fight back against something or some one I thoroughly disagree with.
This Resurrection Sunday is different, after not able to forget how those who call themselves Christian, the active members of Westboro Baptist Church have turned Jesus Christ Gospel of Grace, Love, Mercy and Truth; into a gospel of hate, intolerance and violence. I must>>>>
The Gospel of Luke 24: 1-12>>>
But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came to the tomb, taking with them spices that they had prepared. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in, they did not find the body. While they were perplexed about this, suddenly two men in dazzling clothes stood beside them, " Why so you look for the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again." Then they remembered his words, and returning from the tomb, they told all the eleven and to all the rest. Now it was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told this to the apostles. But these words, seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. But Peter got up and ran to the tomb stooping and looking in he saw the linen cloths by themselves; then he went home, amazed at what had happened. Now, whether or not that cloth is what we now call the Shroud of Turin--that is a matter of Faith and Belief. Whether is is or is not, In My Opinion, does not change the Gospel one bit.
After all>>>
Acts 10: 34-43>>>
Then Peter began to speak to them: " I truly understand that God show no partiality, but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. You know the message he sent to the people of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ--he is Lord of all. That message spread throughout Judea, beginning in Galilee after the baptism that John announced: how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power; how he went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. We are witnesses to all that he did both in Judea and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree; but Good raised him on the third day and allowed him to appear, not to all the people but to us who were chosen by Gos as witnesses, and who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one ordained by God as judge of the living and the dead. All prophets testify about him that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.
Jesus and Jesus alone was ordained by God the Father to be the judge of the living and the dead. Not Me Nor Anyone Else who walks the Earth. This is why the Judgment and the condemnations that are screamed out by the members of the Westboro Baptist Church are so very very evil--By yelling and screaming at people all they are doing is provoking people defense mechanism--Their fight or Flight response--this is not the way of God the Father--Who Said--"Let Us Reason, Together. "
Notice that is preach the gospel, not hit the person over the head with the Gospel until they finally agree to accept it.
In addition, 1 Corinthians 15: 19-26>>>
If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. But, in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have died. For since death came through a human being, the resurrection of the dead has also come through a human being; for as all die in Adam, so all will be made alive in Christ. Then comes the end, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father, after he has destroyed ever ruler and every authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
This is why we can not let those who would tell other that God hates them to keep spreading that lie. God did mean it when it was written that "God So Loved the World that He Gave His only Begotten Son to Die For it." God is not the god of hate, but of the living. How he will judge is up to Him, whom he will condemn is up to him. Once upon a time it was the Job of the Holy Spirit of convict a person of sin--is not doing the Holy Spirit's Job the ultimate in denying the Holy Spirit's Power?!?!?!
That is why I believe in singing>>>
( The Chorus)
All are welcome, friend and stranger, at the banquet of the Savior. All are welcom. All are welcome her.
Verse 1-- From the woman, who comes crying leaving tears at Jesus' feet, to the man who know the right way but cannot see.
(the chorus again)
Verse 2-- From the ones who feel forgotten, thos who sense their place is gone,to the ones who live in hunger, here you belong.
(the chorus again)
Verse 3--Go into the streets and cities, to the farms and families, tell about the splendid table, God's Mercy.
I confess I was born and raised in a Lutheran Church, which I left for a short time, before coming back. What makes a person a Christian is Jesus Christ, not any denomination or blog. It is Grace, Grace, God's Grace that matters. All Are Welcome to Believe. Amen and Amen.
