In Support Of The Middle Class!!!

I am passing on this email from the good Senator Sherrod Brown because in the United States of America--The Middle Class Deserves Support, because the Middle Class is the Backbone of our Society--We Need To Get The Middle Class Healthy So that Our Economy Can Become Healthy>>>>>>>>

Workers that make the federal minimum wage haven’t gotten a raise since 2009.

And tipped minimum wage workers haven’t gotten a raise since 1991.

 

These people work hard. They struggle to provide for their families. As many as 25 percent of those making the federal minimum wage have children. How can we expect these people to save money and get ahead when it’s all they can do just to pay the bills?

 

Ohioans believe that if you put in a hard day’s work, you should bring home a check you can live on. That’s why we raised our minimum wage. It’s time we apply that same principle on a national level.

There is no reason why we can’t get this done. Polls show the people support it. There is no evidence that raising the federal minimum wage hurts businesses. The only reason we haven’t gotten this done is because radical members of Congress refuse to move forward.

 

That’s not good enough. Any member of Congress who objects to raising the minimum wage to a livable wage should have to spend a day in the shoes of a minimum wage worker. Then maybe they would understand the struggle they face, every single day, just to get by.

 

We can -- and should -- raise the federal minimum wage. And members of Congress who aren’t on board need to know just how many of us there are supporting this.
