I am passing this email along because further support of the Middle Class is needed. After all, through war, death, divorce, lifestyle and choice; there are many families in the United States which are headed by women.
I know, because when my late husband drank himself to an early grave, our sons were just shy of their 9th and 7th Birthdays, respectively. I got some Social Security, just enough so that I did not qualify for Medicare. Considering the fact that I was also left with a mortgage and car payments and many bills--since he was unemployed the last month or so of his life and without collecting unemployment; Social Security benefits were eaten up faster than they came in. This meant my paycheck was deeply needed, being a woman the only way to make more money was to work more hours which meant that my sons needed to learn how to take care of themselves at a very early age.
THIS IS WHY EQUAL PAY IN NEEDED SO THAT OTHER MOTHERS DO NOT HAVE TO GO THROUGH WHAT I WENT THROUGH--THIS IS WHAT I BELIEVE OUR FOUNDING FATHERS MEANT BY A MORE PERFECT UNION--THAT EACH GENERATION HAS A RESPONSIBILITY TO RIGHTING WRONGS BEFORE THE NEXT GENERATION SUFFERS FROM THAT WRONG.

Five years ago, we took a big step forward in passing the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act – now it’s time for our next big step.
The fact that millions of American women continue to lose nearly a quarter of their potential earnings to gender discrimination is unacceptable.
Women have made progress in private and public life throughout our history. In New Hampshire in 2012, voters elected the first all-women delegation in our country’s history. It marked an incredible and unmistakable sign of our progress.
We can do big things – we always have. I won’t ever stop fighting until women receive equal pay for equal work. But it won’t happen unless we fight together.

Let’s fix all that by finally achieving fair pay, once and for all.

In addition, please remember all those childish faces that Speaker of the House Boehner was making--This This Is Yet Another Reason That The United States Needs A Democratic Majority In The House of Representatives--So That We Can Have A Mature Adult As Speaker of the House Who is There To Serve The People of the United States--As long as Your Representative Supports Him, They are not supporting you nor the people of the United States of America.
