Ted Cruz Thinks Marriage Equality Will Turn Christianity into Hate Speech.

In an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas said that if marriage equality sweeps the Land of the Free, Christianity will be defined as hate speech.
As reported in Raw Story:
“If you look at other nations that have gone down the road towards gay marriage, that’s the next step of where it gets enforced,” Cruz agreed. “It gets enforced against Christian pastors who decline to perform gay marriages, who speak out and preach biblical truths on marriage, that has been defined elsewhere as hate speech, as inconsistent with the enlightened view of government.”

GUEST COMMENTARY: The Zimmerman Verdict and the Resurrection of the Old Jim Crow

The Planet and the Economy can both be saved. Just because Congress cannot work together, does not mean,we cannot, either.

Two well blow-outs on natural gas rigs in the Gulf of Mexico in two weeks? This is outrageous!

After a well blow-out on Tuesday, a fire started and continues to burn out-of-control just 60 miles from the Louisiana shore. The good news is that the 44 crew members were all safely evacuated. The bad news is that natural gas continues to leak from the well, firefighting vessels have not been able to get close enough to put out the fire 1, and the well has partially collapsed 2.
Natural gas should not play a role in our country's energy future. If President Obama moves forward with a plan to replace coal with natural gas, it means more fracking in our communities, on our public lands, and off our coasts. Although it is too early tell what kind of environmental damage this well blow-out and fire have caused, we already know the impact of fracking in communities across the country -- polluted air, poisoned water, and more climate pollution. Instead of more fracking, we need to double down on clean energy like wind and solar.

Send your message today. Drilling for natural gas, whether on land or in the Gulf of Mexico, is not the solution to meet our country's energy needs.

In support of a friend and a good cause and future employees and future employers.

Obama Had to Say Something about Trayvon Martin, and Americans Needed to Hear It

President Obama’s somber remarks on race and the George Zimmerman verdict were almost painfully personal, delivered from the heart and from his own experiences as a black man in a society that often regards black men and black teens warily, even fearfully.
National Journal>>>Read More.

Yes, President Barack Obama did have to say something.

After all, I have to confess that I was scared to vote for him in 2008, because the economy was going down hill and was bound to continue to go down hill regardless who entered the White House. What concerned me the most at that time was the long history that the United States has--that when the economy nose dives so does racial tolerance. I wish I wish I was wrong, but looks like American History repeated itself, yet again.

Read More, if you wish, but I did not sign the petition nor would I encourage anyone else to. After all, shooting up a school in this day of age where too many innocent children have been murdered in such away is no joking matter. The authority were correct in my opinion--This Young Man Did deserve to go to jail, he is lucky that he found someone gullible enough to post his $500,000 bail. We can only hope that those 5 months in jail taught him a lesson, which apparently he needs to learn--With all these guns and all the freedom to buy them, regardless of mental state--Authorities must be extra vigilant--ALL Threats Must Be Taken Seriously.

After all, now that George Zimmerman was found innocent--he too is free to buy yet another weapon.

That petition was not worth supporting, but this one is, in firm support of Robert's petition and for the love of all the many berries from blackberry to strawberry and my favorite nut--hazelnut. I am asking one and all to sign and share Robert's petition--Thank You, in advance.

Justice can not nor should not be continually denied here in the United States.

Child Watch® Column: "Justice Denied"

The outrage over the killing of an unarmed Black teenager who was doing nothing wrong must continue until some semblance of justice is achieved. People who want to keep faith in American justice feel uncomfortable, upset and disheartened.

Thank You, for such lovely and moving words, which are why we do need justice to come to this and many other cases.

Dear Readers, Justice was not served in Florida, that is why I am passing on this e-mail and in the hope that you too will join in the fight for justice;
Yesterday our hearts went out to Trayvon Martin's mother, who Tweeted this:
"Lord during my darkest hour I lean on you. You are all that I have...Thank you all for your prayers and support... I will love you forever Trayvon!!!" ~ Sybrina Fulton, July 14, 2013 [1]
As mothers, we stand with Sybrina Fulton. We stand for advancing gun safety policies, for ending racial profiling, and for eliminating dangerous laws, like the "stand your ground" law in Florida, all of which contributed to Trayvon Martin's untimely death at age 17.
In February of 2012, George Zimmerman admittedly followed Trayvon Martin, even after the authorities told him not to, and then killed the 17 year old. It took 45 days for Sanford, Florida police to arrest Zimmerman — and only 16 hours for jurors to acquit him of second-degree murder and manslaughter.
*Join us in urging the Department of Justice to bring federal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman.
We were shocked with this verdict, especially given that "[m]anslaughter, which under Florida law is typically added as a lesser charge if either side requests it, was a lower bar. Jurors needed to decide only that Mr. Zimmerman put himself in a situation that culminated in Mr. Martin’s death."  ~ New York Times [2]
The appalling reality is that there are huge racial disparities within our criminal justice system.  According to an Urban Institute study, when white shooters kill black victims, 34 percent of the resulting homicides are deemed justifiable, while only 3 percent of deaths are ruled justifiable when the shooter is black and the victim is white. [2]
*The Department of Justice can bring federal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman. Join us in supporting the call for justice:
Last year, tens of thousands of MomsRising members joined millions of people in an outpouring of support for Trayvon’s mother, Sybrina Fulton. [3] We urged the State of Florida to arrest and charge Trayvon's killer, and also urged the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to intervene and investigate the case. That massive demand for justice led to the eventual arrest and indictment of the admitted killer, George Zimmerman. Since then, the DOJ has closely monitored the state's case against Zimmerman, and federal civil rights charges can still be brought against him.
We need to keep the pressure on.  Our voices have made a difference in the past and when the DOJ takes action, justice is possible. We saw this in 2011, when the DOJ successfully prosecuted and convicted the killers of two unarmed men during the aftermath of Katrina. [4] That didn't happen without pressure from moms, dads and community members raising their voices for justice. Together we can work to bring about justice again, this time for Trayvon Martin.
A jury has acquitted George Zimmerman, but WE are not done demanding justice for Trayvon. Urge the Department of Justice to bring federal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman.
MomsRising has long stood for gun violence prevention as well as for fair treatment and equality for all families in our country.
We support civil rights leaders NAACP and ColorOfChange in their request for the Department of Justice to bring federal civil rights charges against George Zimmerman. Too many of us could be Trayvon Martin's mom--and one child killed is too many. It's time to move gun safety and anti-racial profiling policies and laws forward, as well as to work for a criminal justice system where everyone is treated fairly.
Today, Trayvon Martin’s parents sent this message, "We will not let this verdict define Trayvon." [5]
We won't either.
Together, we are a strong force for women and families.

The Jury Spoke,But-- Unfortuately, Justice Was Not Served. (I still have freedom of speech)

George Zimmerman got away with cold blooded murder. Why? Because the State of Florida, Ironically Spanish for 'Beautiful', has legalized Vigilante Justice. Before any Gun Hugger starts with any Bull Shit about Trayvon Martin being on top of him and beating him up--well that was his-George Zimmerman' Own Damn Fault, SINCE THE POLICE DISPATCHER TOLD HIM NOT TO FOLLOW--BUT HE FOLLOWED HIS SO CALLED 'SUSPECT ANY WAY. If George Zimmerman would have done what he was told to do there would not have been a fight and he would not have had the excuse to commit MURDER.

Part II

Dear Readers, let us not merely get angry about the lie and deception of so-called 'Voter Fraud' let us take action against it, before the Republicans can steal yet another election.

That is why I am passing on this e-mail and petition for your consideration.

Republicans love to point to “voter fraud” to justify their efforts to restrict voting rights. To hear them tell it, there are hoards of walking dead “zombie voters” out there casting ballots as part of an elaborate Democratic voter fraud conspiracy.
So when South Carolina’s Republican governor Nikki Haley ordered her State Law Enforcement Division to turn up all the instances of voter fraud in her state guess what they found?
Zero cases of voter fraud. Nada. Zilch.
That’s right. After Governor Haley spent millions of taxpayer dollars trying to prove that voter fraud exists, her law enforcement division couldn’t find a single recent instance of fraud.
We didn’t need a multi-million dollar report to tell us that voter fraud was a myth perpetuated by Republicans for their own political gain, but these inconvenient facts aren’t going to change their cynical strategy.
According to the New York Times, “State officials across the South are aggressively moving ahead with new laws requiring voters to show photo identification at the polls after the Supreme Court decision striking down a portion of the Voting Rights Act.”
We have to stop “photo ID” and other voter suppression laws from taking effect, before thousands of Democratic-leaning voters are effectively disenfranchised.
Add your name to demand that Governor Haley finally admit that "widespread voter fraud" is nothing more than a politically convenient myth.
It’s not just about requiring voters to obtain new government IDs that are difficult to obtain and cost money in many cases—Republican governors are also closing early voting windows, changing registration laws, and ramming through other barriers to voting.
The recent Supreme Court decision only makes it more urgent that we act now, before it’s too late.
Thank you for standing up for the truth and protecting one of the most fundamental rights in our democracy.
