ENOUGH IS ENOUGH--THE FIGHT AGAINST GUN VIOLENCE CONTINUES.

Subject: Help me tell the NRA to stand down in the wake of Sandy Hook

Dear Readers, instead of passing this on as e-mail, I am posting this here, with the hope and prayer that posting this petition here, will do more good than if I merely e-mailed it to a very few people. After all, for far too long too many lives are lost due to gun violence, it is long passed time that we Americans grow up and out of the "Old West" mentality of 'Shooting first, asking questions, later.' That time came and went long ago.

In addition, to this non-sense that the threat of hand guns is the only thing keeping our Government honest--GET REAL!!!!---The United States Is a Global Military Power with the Fire Power to destroy all life on this planet--upteen times over--IF God forbid Our Government did decide to turn on the people--What would a few rifles do against Scud Missiles;NOTHING, BUT LAUGH!!! Not to forget, our military has goggles that see through walls, if they turn against us--all they would have to do is wait until most of the people in the house/or whatever are asleep and gas them. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE--WE THE PEOPLE KEEP THE GOVERNMENT HONEST BY OUR VOTES AND THE FIRST AMENDMENT--NOT THE SECOND AMENDMENT.

"Teachers stand up to gunmen, but Congress won't stand up to the NRA." That's what one of the signs read when hundreds of people joined CREDO's Emergency March on the NRA in Washington, DC.

After the shooter Adam Lanza, no one is more to blame for the massacre of 20 first graders and six adults at the Sandy Hook Elementary School than the National Rifle Association. In order to stop the senseless killing we must first stop the NRA.

The National Rifle Association is a powerful lobby that pretends to represent gun owners. But in reality, it represents the deadly interests of arms dealers and gun manufacturers. And it has been astonishingly successful at blocking regulations that would keep our children safe from gun violence.

Tell the NRA to stand down, and allow Congress and the President to pass gun control legislation.
