Dear Readers, I confess that I do not e-mail, but I do blog, which is why this is here.
I signed a petition to tell the NRA that guns don't belong in schools. Will you sign, too?
On December 21st, the NRA released a statement claiming that the way to prevent another tragedy like Newtown is to put armed guards in every school in America.
Here's the thing: putting more people with guns in schools doesn't prevent mass gun violence. Columbine High School, Virginia Tech, and Fort Hood military post all had armed guards or police forces present at their shootings -- yet they were unable to prevent the mass murders that occurred there.
The NRA needs to stop pushing useless, ineffective programs like the "National School Shield Safety System" as alternatives to gun control.
If you agree, please sign too.
After all, as sure as this is a Conservation blog--It also a Gun Sanity Blog.
