THIS-THIS--THIS IS WHY GUN SANITY MUST COME TO THE UNITED STATES--AFTER ALL, WHO OTHER THAN THE NRA WOULD CALL TEACHING A CHILD TO SHOOT A LETHAL WEAPON ANYTHING OTHER THAN INSANITY.  WHO OTHER THAN THE NRA WOULD CALL THIS--THIS--ACCIDENT LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO HAPPEN--RESPONSIBLE???

Dear Readers, These Are The Reasons that I am passing on this e-mail;

NRA spokesman Wayne LaPierre testified yesterday at the Senate Judiciary Committee on gun violence. He's known for saying some pretty crazy things (arm every teacher!), but this time he had a simple message: No.

No to an assault weapons ban. No to smaller gun magazines. And no to universal background checks.

The NRA is making their case to Congress. DFA members are mobilizing to make sure they don't get the last word. Join us by chipping in $7 or more today.

I'll give the NRA credit, at least they're consistent. Folks like LaPierre refuse to back down from their extremist positions. But their hard-line stance would be a disaster for American lives and safety.

We have endured enough. We've seen news about deadly shootings day after day -- including one that occurred during yesterday's hearing in Phoenix, AZ.

We have to act now. Donate $7 or more right now to support comprehensive gun control reform.

Thanks for all you do,

- Arshad

Dear Readers, in addition, there is also this e-mail that I would like to pass on;
After all, together, we collected over 100,000 petition signatures in favor of the president's plan to stop gun killings and brought progressive activists to a key Senate hearing on gun violence.
We have elevated the voices of real people over gun lobbyists through our advocacy. Now, we need your help to ramp up this bold progressive organizing and ensure that real people defeat NRA allies who stand in the way of reform.
Thanks for being a bold progressive.
