The American Family Association’s Bryan Fischer has sunk to a new, disturbing low with his anti-gay statements. In two separate tweets last night, he called for an “Underground Railroad to deliver innocent children from same-sex households.” In one tweet he was referring to the sad story of Lisa Miller, who, after declaring herself ex-gay, kidnapped her daughter away to CentralAmerica to prevent her former partner from having any custody. (She is still being tracked by federal agents as a fugitive of the law.)In the other tweet, Fischer referred to the testimony of a individual named Robert Oscar Lopez, who blames all of his social problems on being raised by his mom and her lesbian partner. Here’s a sampling:PEOPLE PEOPLE PEOPLE--PLEASE OH PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS EVIL IN JESUS NAME!!!!!! AFTER ALL, THE SON OF GOD IS NOT THIS EVIL--KIDNAPPING IS EVIL AND SHOULD NOT BE DONE FOR THIS REASON---NOW IF YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT FREEING A CHILD FROM ABUSIVE PARENTS THAT IS A DIFFERENT STORY--BUT TO KIDNAP A CHILD FROM A LOVING FAMILY JUST BECAUSE YOU DO NOT APPROVE OF THE PARENTS--IS WRONG.
Inside, however, I was confused. When your home life is so drastically different from everyone around you, in a fundamental way striking at basic physical relations, you grow up weird. I have no mental health disorders or biological conditions. I just grew up in a house so unusual that I was destined to exist as a social outcast.[...]
Life is hard when you are strange. Even now, I have very few friends and often feel as though I do not understand people because of the unspoken gender cues that everyone around me, even gays raised in traditional homes, takes for granted. Though I am hard-working and a quick learner, I have trouble in professional settings because co-workers find me bizarre.
The Tacoma police officers sent to Lashonn White's aid had been told she was deaf. They knew she'd called because she'd been attacked in her apartment. But when they arrived at the scene, their first response was to taser and handcuff her.
This is a clear example of police power gone terribly awry. »
After being attacked in her own apartment, Lashonn was understandably panicky. When she saw the Tacoma officers arrive, she ran out to meet them rather than continue to wait in her apartment.
As soon as she got close, Officer Koskovich tasered her in her rib and stomach. When she fell, she suffered heavy bleeding from her knuckles, injuries to her cheek, chin, ribs, neck, and arms, and swelling on the right side of her face. Then they handcuffed her. »
The whole time, Lashonn tried to explain that she couldn't understand what the officers were saying. But they continued to treat her like a hearing person who had posed an active danger to their safety.
At the end of the night, Lashonn never received the help she'd asked for. Instead, Tacoma PD put her in jail, for sixty hours, without an interpreter. For sixty hours, Lashonn couldn't explain herself or ask for help. This is an outrage.
Demand justice for Lashonn White immediately. »
Thanks for taking action!

ANOTHER EVIL IS STEALING THE ELECTION!!!!!!!!!
This could cost us the election.
Republican governors across the country have enacted discriminatory voter suppression measures in swing states targeting minorities, the urban poor, and the elderly.
Aside from the fact that it’s blatantly partisan -- since the voters affected traditionally vote for Democrats -- it’s also an attack on millions of Americans’ right to vote.
Please sign our petition to stop Republican voter suppression >>
We have to stand up to this injustice.
We can’t look back after Election Day knowing we could have done more to stop Mitt Romney and the Republicans from stealing this election. Add your name to show that you’re fighting to protect our voting rights:
THE RAPE OF A 15 MONTH OLD--THIS IS TRULY EVIL--THIS IS THE GOOD FIGHT WORTH FIGHTING--NOT GAY MARRIAGE!!!!
