In some areas of the country undergoing a gas drilling boom, the air is getting as smoggy as Los Angeles. And without strong rules, it will get even worse.

Dear Reader I am passing on this email, because It Is so very important that we save our environment and hence ourselves and our decedents from the destruction that 'Fracking' will cause.  Maybe 'Fracking' can squeeze a few more gallons of oil and gas from the ground--BUT AT WHAT COST??? The supply of 'fossil fuels' are very limited to destroy our water supply for the sake of a few more gallons--IS INSANITY! After all, we can utilize other energy sourses, BUT WE CAN NOT LIVE WITHOUT WATER. In addition, to destroy our water supply with what water do we irrigate our crops?? If We are forces to use polluted water on our crops then we are merely spreading the poison more and more. In his State of the Union speech, President Obama promised that drilling and fracking for natural gas would happen "without putting the health and safety of our citizens at risk." Oil and gas companies are trying to get Obama to go back on his word. On April 17, the Environmental Protection Agency is set to finalize regulations that would reduce lung-burning smog and cancer-causing benzene from fracking and drilling. But the oil and gas industry is lobbying hard for loopholes that would dramatically weaken the rule—and they’re taking their fight straight to the White House. We need to be there reminding the President of the promise he made to all of us—that fracking for natural gas would not come at the expense of people’s health.
