This Friday Evening Doesn't feel too much like T.G.I.F... :-((((

The following interview transcript is from this morning's Democracy Now! broadcast.
JUAN GONZÁLEZ: We begin today’s show in Colorado. At least 14 people have been killed and more than 50 wounded in a massive shooting at a movie theater outside of Denver. A gunman wearing a gas mask and bulletproof vest set off what appeared to be a smoke bomb before opening fire at random. Police say the suspect is in custody and that he’s believed to have acted alone.
The attack came at a screening of the new Batman film in the Denver suburb of Aurora. Ten people reportedly died at the scene, and four later succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. A number of the wounded are in critical condition. It was the worst mass shooting in the U.S. since the killings of 32 people at Virginia Tech five years ago.    Read more

Dear Lord, Have Mercy, We have to do something about our Gun Loving Society. Some how, I find it way too coincidental that this movie--Batman--is where the shooting happened and the movie being accused of being political--We Need To Re-Civilize Our Political Debates--We Need To Re-Civilize Our Political Debates!!!

Obama And Romney Campaigns,

Super PACS

 Pull Ads After Colorado Shooting

President Barack Obama, Mitt Romney and the super PACs affiliated with both candidates announced Friday they are halting their negative attack ads in the wake of a mass shooting in Aurora, Colo., that took the lives of 12 people and injured at least 50 others.
As a key swing state, Colorado has been flooded with political ads this cycle, but the presidential campaigns and outside groups on both sides moved to take a pause on Friday.
A representative for the Obama campaign confirmed to The Huffington Post that affiliates in Colorado have been asked to suspend all negative advertising for the time being. The spokeswoman cautioned that it takes time for stations to process such requests, but the campaign is "making every effort." The Romney campaign said it is halting all its ads in the state "until further notice."

Well, at least one good thing came out of that shooting. Hopefully and Prayerfully this is, both sides agreeing to something, is a step in the right direction to Re-civilizing the Political Debates.

Dear Readers, I am also passing this e-mail along, because not only do we need to learn to agree to disagree more coolly and calmly, but we still share a planet called Earth;

This could be our big break in the campaign to stop Shell and other Big Oil companies from drilling in the Arctic.
With a drilling rig already on it's way to the Arctic — it's been delayed because it ran aground in Alaska* — Shell has suddenly been forced to admit that its equipment can't meet basic EPA requirements for air quality.

This should be the final nail in the coffin for Shell's plans to drill in the Arctic. But Shell is asking the EPA for an exemption to the rules that would let it spew more than ten times the legal limit of air pollution while it drills. And unbelievably, the EPA is considering saying yes.
Sign here to tell the EPA to "just say no" to Shell's Arctic drilling plan, and we'll deliver your name to their offices in D.C. and the White House on Monday.
We're teaming up with Greenpeace and other allies to stage an emergency protest on Monday outside EPA headquarters telling them to "just say no" to Shell's plan to drill in the Arctic — then marching to the White House to deliver the same message.
We need you to sign NOW and tell your friends so we can make sure as many names as possible are delivered on Monday.
Thanks,
Colin, Drew and the team at Environmental Action
PS - Please share this news with family and friends. The more people who sign before Monday, the better.
